Bigdata.com is built to be the content layer behind whichever assistant a firm uses. It combines RavenPack's 20-year entity knowledge graph with more than 300 licensed sources — including the Financial Times, S&P Global, FactSet and Quartr — and sells access by the token, honouring licences a client already holds. An official Claude connector, ChatGPT and Copilot access and a remote MCP server that shipped about 50 releases in 17 months make it one of the most widely distributed content layers in our coverage.

Enterprise documentation lags the product. The homepage claims SOC 2 Type II alongside a "Type III" that does not exist, and the trust centre was not readable. The terms permit use of searches and responses to improve the service despite a no-training pledge, and SCIM, audit logs and information-barrier controls were not located. Expert and broker content is thin, and the one published case study comes from a firm affiliated with an investor.

We initiate at 6.47, Emerging, with an Improving outlook. The score sits 0.03 below the Established line. Commercial Value, at 7.50, is among the highest in our coverage; Enterprise Readiness, at 5.00, holds the rating back. A verifiable SOC 2 report and a contractual no-training commitment would move it to Established.

Strengths

  • Entity knowledge graph. More than 12 million entities resolved to tickers and identifiers, with point-in-time history built over two decades.
  • Licensed premium content. Financial Times (licensed for generative AI), S&P Global and FactSet transcripts, Quartr, Washington Post and Caixin, among 300+ sources.
  • Assistant distribution. An official Claude connector, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot access, and a remote MCP server used from Cursor and Gemini.
  • Shipping cadence. About 50 MCP releases in 17 months, including Deep Research, private content and watchlist tools.
  • Transparent pricing. Published tiers from free to $160 a month, per-run cost estimates and credit for licences a client already holds.
  • Tenure and backers. A 23-year operating history, tier-one bank and asset-manager clients, and a strategic investment from FT Ventures.

Cautions

  • Security evidence. The homepage cites both SOC 2 Type II and a "Type III" that does not exist; the trust centre could not be read.
  • Training terms. The homepage pledges no training on customer data, while the terms allow searches and responses to be used to improve the service.
  • Retention. Zero data retention is required of the customer's model, not offered by the vendor on prompts.
  • Access controls. SSO is Enterprise-only; SCIM, admin audit logs and MNPI controls were not located.
  • Content scope. One expert network and independent research only; no bulge-bracket broker research.
  • Related-party evidence. The only quantified case study comes from Bullhound Capital, affiliated with an investor; the CFO is a former Bullhound executive.
  • Inconsistent figures. Archive depth (20 or 25 years), source counts and token savings vary across company pages.
